Three days before the 2006 UCI Masters World Championship race I took a MMR Race camp from Shaums. The camp participants also walked the race course with Shaums and Mike Jones two days before the race. The Race camp was full of great information that will make me a faster racer. Elbows and knees out are about all I could use during my race but I will be doing major work on my cornering technique after “feeling a huge difference” around the cones in the parking lot during the camp. I just couldn’t change my race pace riding style in 2 days! I am very thankful to both Mike and Shaums for the race lines they pointed out during our walk of the course. Those lines helped me win I am sure and I had always thought I was pretty good at picking the fast lines! I plan on taking some more MMR camps next spring as I have developed a taste for Champagne and next year the Masters World Championships are in France so I want to taste the real thing!
